The SAT is a scam. It has been around for 50 years. It has never measured anything. And it continues to measure nothing. And the whole game is that everybody who does well on it, is so delighted by their good fortune that they don’t want to attack it. And they are the people in charge. Because of course, the way you get to be in charge is by having high test scores. So it’s this terrific kind of rolling scam that every so often, somebody sort of looks and says—well, you know, does it measure intelligence? No. Does it predict college grades? No. Does it tell you how much you learned in high school? No. Does it predict life happiness or life success in any measure? No. It’s measuring nothing.
OccupyLA: When Badge Becomes Crown
Nobody marches with a “fuck the police” banner to applaud the stellar work of our enforcers. From the unpunished murders of countless civilians to rights violations, discrimination, citizen assaults and growing privacy concerns, most police forces have shown that they do not prioritize the ability of their officers to respect humanity. A badge is not a “law enforcer” or “what i say is law” pin. It is supposed to be a privilege given to those who have demonstrated the ability to protect our communities. Instead the badge has become an elevated citizenship that renders its holder immune from most consequences, leaving no promise that police won’t fuck with you anymore.
Society is tumbling over the precipice of fascism towards tyranny when cops that shoot unarmed civilians are neither imprisoned nor removed from the job; when door-to-door warrantless home searches are justified by manhunts; when a police officer brutalizes someone nearly every minute of the day; when this corrupt system of enforcement is rapidly militarizing to protect itself from the grievances of the people.
Masking the crimes of the police is the blue code of silence which is practiced by many officers. The code is the snitches get stitches ideology practiced by “criminals” wrapped in a police specific metaphor. The only difference is, society supports and pays for their own uniformed criminals. From badges to guns to drones to copters to LRADs to assault weapons to prison camps to the irreparable consequences of their rogue officers actions - we are the financiers of our own oppressors.
On May Day, the same day that LAPD shot and killed a “suspect” on Skid Row that they “thought” was armed, this article was written congratulating the LAPD for not responding to peaceful protesters with brutality and nonlethal munition. The time when society mostly thanked police for their service has passed. Now, people express gratitude when officers of the law behave like gentle masters.

Speaking as an investigative reporter with almost 40 years’s experience, I can say that when government officials won’t talk, they’re generally hiding something embarrassing or worse.
I tried, and nobody will talk about those Craft International Services private security personnel who were widely observed and photographed near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, wearing security ear-pieces, hats and T-shirts bearing the company’s skull logo, and all wearing the same dark coats, khaki pants and combat boots, some carrying what appear to have been radiation detectors. (I got no hard answers, though there were some inadvertent hints given.)

Why is there a backlash from the American Left against the FEMEN topless jihad? Why do the moral relativist not protect Christianity with the same venomous fervor that they use to protect Islamism?
We wish to fight oppression in all forms, do we not?
No one argues that Muslim women have the right to choose to cover or not. No one except religious extremist. FEMEN has never once demanded that women undress. They have only invited women to feel empowered to make their own choices, and to buck oppressive systems (if they wish).

The American Left is scape goating FEMEN as xenophobes, and neocolonial patriarchs. Why? Because the so called Radical Left is filled with oppressive patriarchs and authoritarians. They seek vindication in identifying another as such. It allows them to feel more righteous. In their piety, they choose to tell these Feminist how, when, and why to demonstrate oppressive systems. They have chosen to be pro-Muslim and Anti-FEMEN. Exploring the ethics behind their choices is of little importance. They are then free to self- promote to the role of savior; a glorious warm sunbeam for the self satisfied ego to sit, and lick its paws.
While these Western Leftist proudly postures against Zionist Imperialist, they have wrongly equated solidarity with Amina, (and making the case for women’s freedom of choice), with the hot button cliche of Western Imperialism. They have become dogmatic at the expense of truth. The radical Left have become protectionist of anything that appears to buck Western values. They prefer to critique FEMEN activist from the safety of their keyboards. In the meantime FEMEN activist are jailed, assaulted, beaten and humiliated for taking a stand for all women who wish to make their own choices. The Left’s response, “tell those white women to shut up.”
Say what you wish about FEMEN, these topless Feminist are fearless and in your face. No masks, no bandanas, no shirts.
FEMEN has criticized Mr Putin over the arrest and conviction of the feminist punk band Pussy Riot, for performing an anti-Putin song in a Moscow cathedral last year.
